Coming from a family with a strong maritime tradition, Jamie took to fishing and sailing at an early age. He spent thousands of hours mastering seamanship, navigation, solo sailing, rope splicing, and more. By the age of 13, Jamie was already an avid sailor, crewing in offshore races and eventually skippering his own boat to multiple wins—well before he was old enough to have a driver’s license.

Alongside sailing, Jamie developed a passion for offshore fishing. He became known as a trusted resource for locating live bottom and reefs, reading ocean currents and drifts, and understanding the migration and feeding habits of targeted species.

While still in high school, Jamie earned his USCG 50GT Master/Mate license and began captaining for Sail Amelia, the Amelia Island Ritz-Carlton, and the Amelia Island Charter Boat Association. From high school through college, he built his reputation at the helm of charter boats while also serving as mate and captain on vessels traveling up and down the Eastern Seaboard, the Bahamas, the Gulf of Mexico, and as far west as Texas.

In addition to his maritime career, Jamie has proudly served as a Nassau County Firefighter/Paramedic for more than 30 years. Today, he continues to call Amelia Island home and spends most of his free time on the water—passing on his love for the sea to his grandson Brayden.
