Our History

My Grandfather Jimmy Deonas

Jimmy Deonas immigrated to America from Santorini, Greece, in 1941. Skilled as a marine architect and accomplished boat builder, he arrived on Amelia Island carrying with him a deep tradition of craftsmanship and maritime knowledge.  The Deonas family owned and operated two waterfront facilities, for building and servicing commercial fishing boats.

Jimmy quickly earned respect for designing and building commercial boats—some as long as 80 feet—many of which are still fishing the waters today.

Over the years, the Deonas name became synonymous with quality and tradition in the maritime industry, both in Greece and in the United States.

Today, Jimmy’s legacy lives on through his son Nick and grandson Jamie, who proudly continue the family’s boatbuilding and marine heritage.
